2 civilians among four dead in Wardak clashes
MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Two civilians, an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier and a militant were killed and eight others wounded after an attack on a security check-post in the Daimir Dad district of central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Thursday.
Ataullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesperson, told Pajhwok Afghan News that armed rebels stormed a security post late Wednesday night in Kokh Surkh area. He gave no further details of the incident.
Zabihullah Mujajhid, Taliban spokesman, claimed inflicting heavy casualties on security forces. Three armored vehicles of security forces had been completely destroyed in the gun-battle, he said.
