12 ANA personnel killed in separate attacks: MoD
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Saturday said 127 militants and 12 Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed in different security incidents in parts of the country over the past two days.
The casualties occurred during ground and air operations in Takhar, Maidan Wardak, Kunduz, Faryab and of Kunar provinces, a statement from MoD said. .
Ghazni, Khost, Nangarhar, Uruzgan, Herat, and Helmand provinces were also scene of security operations, in which 93 rebels suffered casualties.
A Taliban commander was arrested along with four militants, five motorbikes destroyed and some weapons and ammunitions seized during the offensives, it added.
The MoD confirmed 12 ANA soldiers targeted by rocket attacks and roadside bombs were killed in different parts of the country. But the Taliban said only few militants had been killed and claimed heavy casualties had been inflicted on security forces.
