2-day journalism training workshop begins in Khost
KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The Afghan Journalists Protection Committee (AJPC) has arranged a two-day workshop for journalists of southeastern Khost province aimed at boosting their capacity and skills amid conflict.
Farooq Jan Mangal, the AJPC head in southeast, told Pajhwok Afghan News on Friday that the two days workshop would formally end today in which 15 journalists with local and foreign media took part.
The two days training session was aimed at enhancing knowledge of local journalists how to discharge their professional duties in times of violence.
“The journalists were given training how to report violence and file their reports. They were told how to play their role in minimizing the scale of violence and basics of principles of journalism,” Mangal added.
He said that the AJPC was planning to arrange more such workshops in the future to bolster the capacity of local journalists.
Saifullah Zahir, a journalist working with Milli Radio Television, said that before they were looking at only one angle after an event but now they learnt that reports on a single event could be filed at various angles.
