Kabul, Herat residents donate blood for blasts’ victims
KABUL (Pajhwok): To express solidarity with victims of recent bombings, hundreds of residents of capital Kabul and western Herat province, including high ranking officials, on Saturday donated blood for persons wounded in yesterday’s blasts.
Around 70 people, including security officials, had been killed and over 400 wounded in series of explosions in the last couple of days.
Mohammad Asif Rahimi, the governor of Herat, after donation of blood urged residents of Herat to donate their blood and express solidarity with the people of Kabul in this hour of grief.
Baqi Samandar, a civil society activist, donated blood in a camp organized in the Zarnigar Park in Kabul, said the purpose of the process was to show solidarity with wounded people of recent bombing.
He said the day had been specified for blood donation and camps in this regard were established in 40 districts and 18 municipality districts of the city.
