Pakistani troops again fire rockets into Kunar
ASSADABAD (Pajhwok): The governor of eastern Kunar province has said Pakistani troops have been firing rockets intermittently for the last five years, which have inflicted heavy casualties on civilians.
Governor Wahidullah Kalimzai told a press conference that scores of families had migrated to safer places from Angam, Naray and Sarkano bordering areas to avoid casualties because of Pakistani army firing.
Pakistani troops had fired around 43 mortar shells in last few days, he alleged, adding that “the mortar shells inflicted heavy men and material losses. The mortar attack by Pakistan has left one person injured just last night, he added.
The governor said that he had brought the issues to the notice of senior officials in Kabul. Replying a question, he said: “Afghan security forces have the ability to protect the motherland from the enemies.”
Kalimzai expressed his views that Afghan soil had never been used for insurgency since other neighboring states should not be involved in attacks on Afghanistan.
