President to youth: Beaware of terrorist designs

Aug 12, 2015 - 18:18

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): In his message on International Youth Day on Wednesday, President Ashraf Ghani warned that terrorists wanted to use youth as a tool of achieving  their nefarious designs.

The presidential message was read out by Sayed Muzghan Mustafavi, deputy information and cultural affairs minister, in a gathering organised by her ministry. A number of high-ranking officials, political analysts and youth were present on the occasion.

Ghani congratulated Afghan youth on the day and hailed them as the backbone of societyinfo-icon. This phase in life provides a career-making opportunity, he observed. He said youth suffered as well due to violence, social injustice and discrimination.

Information Minister Abdul Bari Jahani said: “Our youth has extraordinary talent and qualities which have proved over the period of time.”

Ahmadzia Massoud, the president’s special envoy for reform and good governance, said the country witnessed fast paced changes in the past 13 years and today “we have a new generation of young blood.”

He said the new generation was better aware of economic, political situation of the country and were taking part in the development and progress of nation and country.
