Country’s universities, schools to be interlinked: MCIT
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) would connect universities and schools of the country through online information technology system.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked in this regard between the Ministers of Information Technology and higher education here, an official said.
Abdul Razaq Wahidi, minister of information technology, said that the MoU was aimed at providing better internet facilities with furnished computer labs to the students at universities and schools’ level.
He said the provision of latest technology would help improve the capacity of students. The project would take five years to complete which would be funded through the development budget of MCIT.
According to Wahid, at the moment $17 million had been approved for the Ministry of Education and more than $3 million for the Ministry of Higher Education.
Farida Momand, the higher education minister, praised the effort of MCIT and said the project would help improve the capacity of students in the area of information technology.
