Farmers in north get irrigation equipment
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Irrigation (MALI) has distributed 388 sets of irrigation tools among farmers in northern provinces of the country, an official said on Sunday.
The irrigation tools had been distributed free of cost to the farmers under the National Horticulture and Livestock Projects, Ahmad Fahim Jabbari, the project coordinator said.
He said 75 sets of irrigation tools had been distributed to the farmers in Balkh, 96 in Jawzjan, 55 in Samangan, 80 in Faryab, and 100 in Sar-i-Pul province to farmers who were facing with difficulties in irrigating of their farmlands.
Shamsul Haq, the resident of Shulgar district in Balkh province, said earlier the irrigation of farmlands was expensive but distribution of new tools would help save money and time of those working in their fields.
