10 of a family burnt to death in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Ten members of a family burnt to death when fire erupted all in a sudden inside their home in western Herat province, a medic said on Monday.  

Mohammad Shafiq Sherzai, the spokesman of a local hospital, told Pajhwok Afghan News that fire engulfed a house in Manarono locality on the vicinity of fifth police district in Herat City, the provincial capital, on Sunday night.

Four women, three children and as many male members burnt to death as a result of inferno.

“It could not be immediately ascertained what caused the fire,” he said. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, provincial police spokesman, confirmed the death but said that investigations were underway to divulge what caused the fire.
