Unity holds key to stability, says Amarkhel
MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): National Stability Party chief Ziaul Haq Amarkhel on Thursday said Afghanistan would continue to elude stability and peace until all the Afghans struck unity in their ranks.
Amarkhel was addressing a gathering of tribal elders, former jihadi commander, religious leaders, literary figures and youth in Mehtarlam, the capital of eastern Laghman province.
He urged all the people, religious scholars and tribal elders of Laghman to work for national unity and bringing peace and stability to the country.
The former chief electoral officer said peace had the value like breathing for humans and its absence threatened humans and their lives.
The National Stability Party leader asked the government to take realistic steps toward rescuing the nation and preventing further bloodshed.
He said the government came into being as a result of huge sacrifices by the nation and it was everybody’s duty to support the regime.
A tribal elder and former provincial council member, Gulzar Sangarwal, also said only unity among all ethnicities could bring about peace and stability to the country.
