Cases of 6 Urban Ministry officials referred to court
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Attorney General Office (AGO) on Tuesday said that investigations into corruption in the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) have been completed and the cases of six officials referred to the special anti-corruption court.
AGO spokesman Basir Azizi told a news conference the cases have been reviewed deeply by attorneys and all the issues have been cleared in the investigation documents.
He said scrutiny about corruption in the MoUD has been completed and the cases of six officials of the ministry shared with the anti-corruption court.
Two month back, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani suspended six officials of the ministry on accusation of irregularities and barred them from travelling abroad.
The six officials include Ahmad Nawaz Bakhtyar, Mohammad Amin Qane, Ahmad Shah Himat, Mohammad Amin Amin, Gul Rahim Zyarmal and Sayed Aman Sadaat.
Last week, the AGO acting head Noor Habib Jalal had said that 26 officials involved in corruption were under prosecution.
However, AGO spokesman did not provide information about other officials allegedly involved in corruption.
