6 rebels held, 5 joined peace in Parwan, Badghis
CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Six people having links with militants were arrested in central Parwan province while five other rebels joined peace process in northwestern Badghis province, officials said Wednesday.
A security official in Parwan wishing anonymity told Pajhwok Afghan News that an operation was launched in parts of Jabal Al Saraj and Sayed Khail districts last night.
He said four militants with two of them belonged to Mullah Qari group were arrested during operation in Jabal Ala Saraj district.
Police uniforms and some ammunition were also seized from rebels during the operation, he said.
Elsewhere, five militants joined peace process in Badghis province. Provincial police chief Col. Abdul Qayyum Angar confirmed that the militants who renounced violence belonged to Akazi area of Bala Murghab district on Tuesday.
