NSP executes 40 public welfare projects in Khost
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Rehabilitation and Rural Development (MRRD) on Sunday said 40 welfare projects had been implemented in southern Khost province.
A statement from MRRD said the projects executed the National Solidarity Program (NSP) cost 52 million afghanis and took several months to complete.
Irrigation dams, embankments, social centres, a water reservoir, footpaths, canals and clean water wells completed in Bak, Gurbaz, Zazai Maidan, Dwamanda and Trizai districts.
NSP Director Eng. Mohammad Basir Mohammadzai told Pajhwok Afghan News around 8,000 people would benefit from the projects.
From 2004 till now, the NSP had executed different schemes in 1,148 villages of Khost province, he said, adding: “We have implemented 2,197 projects while 267 others are underway in the province.”
A resident of Gurbaz district, Haji Gul Mohammad, hailed most of NSP projects as beneficial. He asked relevant officials to implement the programme in all regions of the province.
