Afghanistan beat Bangladesh in 5-nation T20 tournament

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon disabled cricket team defeated hosts Bangladesh in five-nation ICRC Physical Disabilities Twenty20 cricket tournament in Dhaka on Monday.

The Bangladesh disabled cricket team opted to bat first after winning the toss in the 20 overs game and set the Afghans 120 runs target for the loss of six wickets, Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News.

For Afghanistan, he said, Mohammadullah and Abdullah bagged two wickets each and Tufail and Sherin one each.

Hotak said the Afghan team won the game in the last over with three wickets in hand.  Mohammadullah also played well with the bat and contributed 32 valuable runs to his side. Sangar made 19 runs, Obadiullah 16, Ahsraf 13 and Tufail 13 runs for the Afghan side.

Mohammadullah was the man of the match.

It was the Afghanistan disabled team’s first victory in the tournament after losing to India and Pakistaninfo-icon.

The five nations include Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, England and the hosts Bangladesh.

On Sunday, Pakistan disabled cricket team lost by eight runs to England. Earlier, Pakistan had defeated Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
