2 schoolchildren dead in Logar roadside bombing
PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Two schoolchildren were killed and three others wounded as a result of an explosion in the central province of Logar, officials said on Thursday.
The roadside bomb planted by the Taliban exploded at around 9am in Azra district, killing two students and injuring three others, the gubernatorial spokesman, Saleem Saleh, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The children were on their way to school when the explosion occurred, Azra district chief Hamidullah Hamid said.
The children were shifted to a nearby hospital, he said, giving no information regarding the health condition of the three injured.
There was no immediate reaction from the Taliban, whom Afghan officials frequently blame for such attacks.
