UNICEF vehicle strikes roadside bomb in Nangarhar
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A United Nations (UN) vehicle was hit by a roadside bombing in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Thursday, an official said.
Provincial police spokesman Lt. Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on a road in the limits of the 4th police district this morning.
The explosives went off when the vehicle was passing by, he said, adding no one suffered casualties in the incident.
A security official, wishing anonymity, said the blast targeted the UNICEF vehicle but caused no casualties. The Taliban have not yet commented on the bomb attack.
