2 ex-jihadi commanders killed in Sar-i-Pul
SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): Two former jihadi commanders have been killed in separate incidents involving unidentified gunmen in northern Sar-i-Pul province, a public representative said on Monday.
The two murders took place an hour apart, the provincial council chief, Mahmood Noor Rahman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The first incident took place at around 4pm when a jihadi commander, Nizam alias Qaryadar, came under attack from unknown gunmen in Asiaabad area on the outskirts of Sari Pul City, the provincial capital, he said.
Nizam was travelling on a motorcycle along with his son and both were killed on the spot, he said.
Separately, another former commander of the Junbish-i-Milli Islami party, Mullah Mohammad Noor, was shot dead by two motorcyclists at 5pm in the city.
The commander was traveling in an auto-rickshaw when he was attacked in front of Azizi Bank branch and the attackers made their escape good, the public representative said.
