Cop accused of killing 4 colleagues held in Badakhshan
FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A policeman accused of killing four of his colleagues in the Shah Joi district southern Zabul province has been detained, an official said on Tuesday.
Zabul officials said on September 7 the four policemen were killed and two others had been missing as a result of the shooting in the Kajarkhel area of Shah Joi district.
Badakhshan police chief Col. Sakhi Dad Haidari told Pajhwok Afghan News the alleged killer, a resident of Argo district, was arrested last night. The detainee was then shifted to Kabul for investigation.
Haidari said the accused, Amanullah, had been in contact with Taliban before shooting the four policemen on September 7. The arrest was made on the basis of information from Zabul security officials.
Zabul police had said a delegation had been appointed to ascertain the motive behind the killing of the policemen. The Taliban militants have not yet commented on the incident.
