Violence in KP linked to presence of illegal Afghans
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has linked a spike in violence in Pakistan’s northwestern province to the presence of unregistered Afghans.
At a meeting with outgoing US Consul-General Jon F Danilowiez on Monday, Khattak said residents of the province wanted the illegal Afghans to be repatriated
He argued the unregistered Afghans must return to their country as normalcy had been restored in most parts of their homeland, a handout from the chief minister’s office said.
The US diplomat discussed matters with the chief minister a wide range of issue, particularly bilateral cooperation, development and Afghan refugees.
