4 killed, 41 wounded in Paghman suicide attack
KABUL (Pajhwok): A suicide bomber on Wednesday struck the Paghman district police headquarters in Kabul, killing four people, including a crime branch official.
Kabul crime branch chief, Brig. Gen. Faridoon Ubaidi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the suicide attack took place at around 10.00am. At least 41 people were wounded.
He said the attacker detonated his small Mazda truck, killing the district crime branch chief, Col. Dur Mohammad, one of his bodyguards and two civilians.
Ubaidi added seven women and four children were among the injured, who were shifted to different hospitals. Most of them were slightly injured and discharged after being administered first aid.
A wall of the district’s headquarter building and three containers were damaged in the incident, he said.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack and said several security personnel including the Paghman crime branch chief had suffered casualties.
