Afghan refugee gunned down by Pakistani citizen
PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): An Afghan refugee has been shot dead in the Charsadda district of Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.
At a jirga in the Mandani village of Charsadda, a Pakistani and an Afghan refugee exchanged hot words before trading fire, a local police official said.
Hasan Khan, an official of Mandani police station, told The Express Tribune: “They opened fire on each other. As a result, Afghan refugeeAyubwas killed.”
The victim’s father Ezat Khan and his brother Arif Khan were injured. Arif, a Pakistani national, was also wounded, the police official said.
Living in a camp in the area along with his family, Ayub had convened the jirga to ask his neighbours not to play football outside their houses.
