Ghor primary court judge detained on corruption charges
FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The primary court judge in western Ghor province has been arrested on the charge of bribery in accordance with the order of an investigative team sent from Kabul, an official said on Thursday.
Atta Mohammad Farooqi, the primary courthead, was ordered detained by a delegation sent by the Supreme Court, Appellant Court Judge Mohammad Hakim Kunaritold Pajhwok Afghan News.
The delegation had been interrogating Farooqi, a source in the National Directorate of Security (NDS)-- the Afghan intelligence service -- confided to this news agency.
According to a survey by the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) in January, some departments in the province, including the prosecution office and courts,are involved in corruption.
