Police claim thwarting possible rocket strike in Kabul
KABUL (Pajhwok): Police averted a possible rocket attack on Kabul on Thursday by seizing four BM1 rockets in the Deh Sabz district, an official said.
Kabul police chiefLt. Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi told reporters the rockets had been placed in a grape garden in the Tarakhel locality of the capital.
He said two rockets had been connected to a cell phone and as many connected with a timer. The target was Kabul, he added.
Rahimi said the rockets were seized with the help of local residents. District police headquarters personnel defused the rockets.
Col. Saifuddin Nangialay, the town’s police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News security officials reached the site in time and averted a possible attack.
