4 Etisalat contractors killed after being kidnapped in Herat (Video)

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The Taliban killed four contractors of the Etisalat Telecommunication Companyafter abductingthem in the western province of Herat, officials said on Saturday.

Last week, the militants kidnapped the four contractors in Guzra district and asked them to pay 300,000 afghanis each in ransom, the governor’s spokesman, Ihsanullah Hayat, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

They captives had been taken to the Kurd area of the district where they tries to escape. Three of them managed to flee but one was shot dead by the captors. On Friday evening, the rebels re-captured the trio and gunned them down.

Security personnel have launched an investigation into the incident, the gubernatorial spokesman concluded.
