Al Qaeda-linked militant blows himself up during raid
PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A suicide bomber blew himself up during a raid by security forces in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi on Sunday morning, officials said.
At least two policemen were injured during the raid in Malir neighbourhood, Karachi police said. The injured were evacuated to a private medical facility.
The raid was aimed to capture a terror suspect, Farhan, who was reportedly in hiding in the area. The law-enforcement personnel traded fire with the suspect.
Before detonating his suicide jacket, the Al Qaeda-linked suspect threw two hand grenades at the raiding party. Farhan is accused of killing several security officers.
