38 insurgents dead in several operations: MoI
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday said at least 38 insurgents were killed in different parts of the country in the past 24 hours.
The MoI said in a statement in joint clearing operations by security forces in Nangarhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-i-Pul, Kandahar, Ghazni, Herat and Helmand provinces 38 rebels were killed and eight more wounded.
According to the statement some weapons and ammunitions were also seized by security forces. The operations were still ongoing in parts of these provinces.
The operations, the MoI said, were aimed at ensuring safety and security to residents, denying militant safe return to their bases, and rendering services to the local population.
Taliban have yet to comment about these operations.
