Paktika deputy police chief among 4 injured in blast
SHARANA (Pajhwok): The deputy police chief for southeastern Paktika province was among four others wounded in a bomb blast that killed another two policemen in the Omna district on Wednesday, officials said.
Paktika police chief Ali Mast Momand told Pajhwok Afghan News one policeman was killed and the deputy police chief, Nisar Ahmad Rahimzai, was injured in the blast.
But another official said one Afghan Local Police member and one Afghan National Army officer were killed in the blast that ripped through Rahimzai’s motorcade patrolling in the area. He said four security officials, including Rahimzai, were wounded in the blast.
An official at the civil hospital in Sharana, the provincial capital, confirmed receiving four wounded policemen from the scene.
The Taliban said the blast killed several security personnel including an ANA officer.
Meanwhile, the Omna district chief, Mohabbat Khan, said a civilian riding a motorcycle was killed in a roadside bombing in Ginawa area of the district on Wednesday morning.
