Sep 24, 2015 - 14:37

CHARIKARinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A youth in central Parwan province says he has no preparation for Eid since he could not even make the ends meet in feeding his family.

Mohammad Del, 26, hailing originally from Alisheng district of Laghman province had moved with his family to Dolana locality of Parwan provincial capital.

He cited security reasons and drought in Alisheng district as major reasons for his family’s displacement to Parwan province.

He lives in a house with two old rooms with his family that comprise his wife, two sons, a daughter, three younger brothers and old parents.

He said due to economic problems he could not afford to buy new clothes or have any Eid preparations for his family members.

Mohammad Del said for finding manual jobs he came to Charikar city, but managed to find only twice or thrice in a week. He earned 300 afghanis per day.

His two younger brothers also worked with carts in the city and earned 50 afghanis per day each. Life was so challenging, he complained, that they had forgotten about Eid altogether.

He said some of their neighbors who had land helped his family with vegetables and other edibles.

“My little brothers younger brothers asked me many times to prepare clothes for them for Eid, but I couldn’t afford its money.”

He said it was painful for him to be illiterate and could not find a better job. No organ had also helped him or his family thus far.

According to the refugees and repatriation department in Parwan, in the last ten years more than 2,461 families have been displaced to the province from Kapisa, Laghman, Bamyan, Nuristan, Paktia, Kunduz, Ghazni, Panjshir and Surubi district of Kabulinfo-icon for various reasons.
