Ulema role vital for stable political system: Ghani
The president expressed these views during a meeting with members of the Afghanistan Grand Ulema Council (AGUC) here, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
He said the role of ulema was vital for the protection and maintenance of political system in the country. “Being of Afghanistan was connected with the religion of Islam and it was the only way of guidance for us,” said the president.
He said Islam meant justice and equality and this principle must be practiced in politic, economy, agriculture sectors and social live and without justice no system could ran smoothly.
Maulvi Qiamuddin Kashaf, head of the AGUC, said the president always honored and praised ulema and religious scholars supported him and the government.
He said that ulema had renewed their pledges and promises to support the government and prayed for more successes and prosperities for the government and Afghanistan.
The president also said that government would make the best security arrangement for the Ashora commemoration in order to prevent any unpleasant incident.
