Woman dies, district chief among 8 injured in accident
MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): The administrative head for Chak district of central Maidan Wardak province was among eight people injured in a traffic accident that left a woman dead on Thursday, an official said.
The district chief, Mohammad Hashim, was travelling on the Kabul-Ghazni highway when the collision between a pick-up vehicle and a van occurred in Durani area at about 5pm, the governor’s spokesman said.
Attaullah Khogyani added a woman was killed and eight others including Hashim were wounded in the collision. Two persons were said to be in critical condition, he said, describing Hashim’s condition as stable. Hashim was taken to Kabul for treatment and the rest to the main hospital in Maidan Shahr, the provincial capital, he said.
He said Governor Hayatullah Hayat had expressed his grief over the accident.
