Security forces retake Tala wa Barfak district
PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Tala wa Barfak district in northern Baghlan province has been retaken by security forces from Taliban militants, local officials said on Saturday.
Brig. Gen. Abdul Jabar Purdeli, Baghlan police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News security forces entered the district at 6:00pm on Saturday with the help of local people.
He said Taliban insurgents fled the district without putting up any resistance.
The police chief added four Taliban fighters attempting to block a major road in Khenjan district were detained.
He assured the security situation in the province was satisfactory. The district fell to Taliban two days back.
