18 insurgents eliminated in Uruzgan airstrikes
TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): At least 18 militants have been killed during airstrikes in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Sunday.
Aminullah Khaliqi, the Deh Rawood district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News foreign forces conducted air raid in some parts of the town on Saturday night.
He said several militants, who posed a threat to the local people, were killed in the airstrikes on their hideouts in different parts of the district.
Amanullah Hotaki, former provincial council member and resident of the district, confirmed the raid. He said a large number of militants had sneaked into Deh Rawood from Helmand province.
An official, who wished to go unnamed, said 18 militants had been killed in the airstrikes. The Resolute Support mission and Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
