Key Haqqani commander detained in Khost
Commander Nimatullah alias Khalid was trying to cross Durand Line into Afghanistan when he was arrested while wearing women’s cloths and burqa, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said in a statement.
Khalid, the leader of 100 Haqqani fighters and shadow commander for Dwamanda district, was moving from Miran Shah area of Pakistan to Khost province to carry out disruptive activities in Khost City, the statement claimed.
Separately, seven suspected insurgents, including a Pakistani national, were detained and 97 kilograms of drugs were recovered from two smugglers in the eastern province of Nangarhar, police spokesman said.
Col. Hazrat Hussain said Abdul Raziq, a suspected Pakistani national, was detained in Haska Mina district while six others were detained during an operation in Bati Kot district of the province.
Two drug smugglers detained in Surkhrod district possessed 97 kg of hashish, he said.
