Human remains found at Presidential Palace; probe ordered
KABUL (Pajhwok): Bones of two people have been found during construction work at the Presidential Palace in Kabul, prompting President Ashraf Ghani to order an investigation.
Two skulls and different body bones were found when a kitchen was being constructed in one of its buildings, the Presidential Palace said on Tuesday, The remains were shifted to forensic laboratory.
Ghani appointed a team of representatives from forensic department, doctors, Afghanistan Independent Human RightsCommission and Interior Ministry to identity the corpses.
According to the statement, the team has been tasked to hand over the bodies after being identified to relatives. If their families are not found, the government will bury them in accordance with the Islamic Shariah.
