Law governing CEO, his deputies’ salaries approved
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Wolesi Jirga (WJ) or lower house of the parliament on Wednesday approved a draft law regarding salaries of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), his two deputies and others discharging duties out of the country’s grade system.
The measure comprising two chapters and eight articles was presented to the house by lawmaker Sadiqizada Neili. The draft had earlier landed in the house in May.
Neili said one article and some clauses had been added to the draft during a meeting of the house finance commission in which officials from the ministries of justice ministry, finance, the Presidential Palace’s Administrative Affairs Office and public representatives took part.
Neili said the bill was flawless and ready for approval by the lawmakers.
The law fixes salary of the CEO as 276,250 afghanis and of his two deputies 201,500 afghanis.
A majority of the lower house members approved the law which would be sent to the Mesharano Jirga for approval.
