New Sar-i-Pul governor promises improved security
MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The newly-appointed governor for northern Sar-i-Pul province on Saturday pledged to improve the law and order situation with the support of people and central government.
During a ceremony held in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, Mohammad Zahir Wahdat said he was fully aware of security situation and other issues in Sar-i-Pul.
Mentally and physically prepared to handle the prevailing situation there, Wahdat said the role of the central government and people was vital to the development and prosperity of the provinces. He would try to reduce the gap between the government and the people.
Balkh Governor Atta Mohammad Noor praised Wahdat as an honest man and his close jihadi ally . He assured the new governor of full support. Wahdat served as deputy governor of Balkh before his new appointment.
