ANDMA begins assessing Kunduz IDPs needs
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) on Sunday practically started assessing the needs of displaced families of northern Kunduz province, asking donors to hand it over their donations for transparent distribution.
ANDMA chief Wais Ahmad Barmak on Sunday discussed issues concerning the displaced families with representatives of government departments, national and international NGOs, lawmakers from Kunduz and the affected families in Kabul, a statement from the Chief Executive Office said.
Fourteen teams were assigned to ascertain the exact number of the displaced families, their locations and needs at the meeting, the statement said, adding that another two teams were assigned to survey people having no shelter in Kabul in order to provide them shelter.
A dozen more teams would assess the situation of the families on the outskirts of Kabul, the statement added.
Barmak asked all the donors to hand their assistance over to ANDMA for their distribution to the people in a transparent way and according to their needs.
