MoI assures UN agencies of all possible security
Addressing a press conference, MoI spokesmanSediq Seddiqisaid the ministry was ready to improve security around offices of UN agencies in Afghanistan.
He asked UN employees to avoid unnecessary travel in Kabul in the interest of their personal safety and that of the ordinary people.
Recently, the US embassy claimed receivingan intelligence report that the United National Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) faced a security threat.
On its website, the embassy said the UN compound and other offices in Kabul might be attacked by suicide bombers in Kabul. It advised US nationals working for the UN not to travel unnecessarily in Kabul.
