Pakistan misusing Afghan ID cards, allege lawmakers

Pakistan misusing Afghan ID cards, allege lawmakers

Oct 18, 2015 - 20:30

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Some Meshrano Jirgainfo-icon members on Sunday alleged Pakistani intelligence agencies used Afghan national identity cards to enter terrorists into Afghanistaninfo-icon.

Nader Baloch, who heads the upper house internal security commission, said the Pakistani intelligence agencies misused these ID cards when Afghans submited them with other documents for obtaining visas of Pakistaninfo-icon.

He alleged using fake names, addresses, registration number and other information in forced Afghan cards, Pakistan had sent hundreds of terrorists inside Afghanistan in the past.

He explained the picture belonged to a Pakistani while the rest of information was faked and could not be traced.

Lutfullah Baba, a lawmaker from Nangarhar province, expressed his concern over the use of fake Tazkera, and urged serious attention from the government to the issue.

He said Pakistani intelligence agencies mostly used people who understood Pashtoinfo-icon for terrorist attacks in Afghanistan and awarded them fake ID cards.

Mohammad Alam Ezedyar, the deputy chairman, asked the internal security commission to investigate the issue in coordination with security officials.
