Anti-graft effort not verbal but practical: Ghani
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Monday said his government’s anti-corruption campaign was not verbal but practical.
The president was presented its findings into investigation in logistic contracts of the Ministry of Defence by an investigation delegation, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
The delegation head, Hamiddullah Farooqi, said some professionals had been working as part of the investigation over the past five and a half months and hoped the findings would be helpful in removing corruption, the statement said.
President Ghani thanked the delegation for their efforts to investigate the logistic contracts, saying their report showed anti-corruption struggle of the Afghan government was not verbal but it was practical.
The team had thoroughly investigated corruption in the contracts and provided suggestions of the professionals about anti-corruption efforts in the report, Ghani said.
He would carefully read the report and would hold meetings with the evaluation team of the logistic contracts of the ministry in order to implement their suggestions, he said.
