District intelligence officer found dead in Farah
FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): The intelligence chief for the Khak-i-Safid district of western Farah province has been killed under mysterious circumstances, an official said on Tuesday.
A National Directorate of Security (NDS) confided to Pajhwok Afghan News Abdul Karim, the district intelligence chief, was killed by unknown people on Monday night.
He said on condition of anonymity the body of the slain NDS officer was found in Sang Zor area this morning. Security organs have launched an investigation into the incident.
Farah Civil Hospital DirectorDr. Abdul Hakim Rassouli confirmed receiving the body of the NDS official.He that the official had been hit in the head, but the object used in the attack could not be identified.
A provincial police official, who also wished to go unnamed because of the sensitivity of the incident, confirmed the killing.No one has so far claimed responsibility.
