Honest regional cooperation a must to defeat terror: Atmar
KABUL (Pajhwok): The president’s national security advisor (NSA) on Wednesday said continued stability in the region could be achieved if all regional countries demonstrated honesty in a joint counterterrorism campaign.
A statement from the National Security Council (NSC) quoted Mohammad Hanif Atmar as saying this during a meeting met with Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Amar Sinha in Kabul today.
The officials discussed the bilateral relationship and cooperation in economic and educational fields. Sinha said India stoutly supported the Afghan government’s policy on combating terrorism.
Atmar thanked India for its continued support and said lasting stability in the region could be ensured only when regional countries honestly cooperated in the fight against the scourge of terrorism.
