Taliban attack on Kandahar police building ends
KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A coordinated Taliban attack on a border police compound ended with the killing of all four attackers in Spin Boldak border town in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday, an official said.
One of the attackers rammed his explosives-laden motorcycle into the gate of the police building, allowing three other suicide attackers to enter the compound, the governor’s spokesman said.
Samim Khpalwak told Pajhwok Afghan News the three attackers were killed by police after a gun-battle that lasted two hours.
One border policeman was killed and two others wounded, he said.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the coordinated attack. Their spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi said a number of police were killed in the attack involving several bombers.
