FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Germany has decided to construct installations for the 4th brigade of the Shaheen Military Corps in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Thursday.
Brig. Gen. Andreas Hanneman made the commitment in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, after concluding his visit to Badakhshan.
Acting Governor Shah Wali Adib said the installations would be built with the help of Germany in Faizabad, the provincial capital, and Baharak district to meet the requirement of the brigade.
Gen. Attiqullah, the deputy chief of the army staff, estimated the new constructions for the 4th brigade would cost 169 million afghanis. Work on the project will begin in a couple of days and will be completed within weeks.
Earlier, Lt. Gen. Qadam Shah Shaheem had said two new units of the army and commando forces would be stationed in Faizabad and Baharak district.
