NPC approves 15 contracts worth one billion afghanis
KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) approved 15 contracts worth more than one billion afghanis during a meeting at the Presidential Palace on Thursday.
Chaired by chaired President Ashraf Ghani, the meeting was attended by 2nd Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danish, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah and other senior official were.
During the meeting, official from the defence ministry briefed the president on the scrutiny of its procurement contracts and informed the NPC about its future requirements.
The president urged the creation of a separate framework to deal with logistic issues and equipment of security forces.
He said a delegation of interior ministry officials would be formed to monitor implementation of laws, ensure transparency and prevent corruption in the procurement process.
