Taliban gun down Jaghatu district chief, security guard
GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The Taliban on Thursday shot dead the administrative chief for Jaghatu district along with his guard in southern Ghazni province, an official said.
Deputy Governor Mohammad Ali Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the district chief, Mohammad Daud, and his bodyguard were killed early in the morning in Qiyagh locality.
He said the official was traveling in a passenger vehicle,which the Taliban stopped in the Qiyagh area. Daud and his guard were gunned down after being disembarked from the vehicle.
Ghazni police chief, Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel, confirmed the incident and urged government servants to informed police before travelling from place to another.
Mohammad Hussain, a resident of the locality, said security forces had evacuated the bodies of the district chief and his security guard.
As usual, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed on his tweeter account the fighters had shot dead the Jaghatu administrative head.
