JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The spy agency on Monday said four Daesh commanders, including their shadow district chief for Kot district, have shunned violence and reconciled with the government.

The provincial National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) office in a statement said the commanders included the shadow district chief, police chief, military chief and a military commander.

“Qari Rafiq, known as Qari Yaser, Daesh district chief for Kot, Mehrabuddin, alias Khalid Waskati, police chief, Noor-ul-Haq alias Mullahinfo-icon Wardak, military commander and Qari Israr another commander have surrendered to the government,” said the statement.

These commanders reconciled with the government following efforts by NDS officials, the statement added.

The commanders who introduced themselves as residents of Kot district have admitted to previously working with the Talibaninfo-icon.

Nangarhar NDS chief Gen. Dad Mohammad Harifi, meanwhile, said the Daesh drama was coming to an end in the province.

He said the group had been defeated in Shinwar district and in another month, they would be rooted out.
