Mansour asks Taliban not to harm public welfare projects
KABUL (Pajhwok): Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour has called upon fighters to maintain good behaviour with ordinary people and avoid causing damages to public welfare and infrastructure projects.
In a voice message sent by Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the insurgency’s new supreme leader extended his condolences to the war victims and asked Taliban fighters to nicely treat people, saying “ The nation has right on us.”
The fighters should respect elders, religious scholars and local influential and take their advices on different issues, he advised.
Mansour also called on Taliban not to harm infrastructure projects such as dams, seminaries and school buildings, bridges, clinics and others.
“Taliban should protect uplift structures and prevent people from trying to defame mujahideen by doing such destructive activities,” Mansour, who replaced Taliban’s founder and long-time supremo late Mullah Omar, said in his message.
He also ordered Taliban commanders and group leaders to pay more attention to activities of their comrades and fighters.
He once again insisted on unity among various Taliban factions, saying they should not trust in propaganda of others.
