Humanitarian aid arrives in Kabul from Islamabad
KABUL (Pajhwok): A C-130 aircraft carrying humanitarian assistance arrived in Kabul from Islamabad on Friday.
The Pakistani Embassy in Kabul said the consignment mainly contained wheat flour and was handed over to the Deputy Minister/Deputy Chairman of Afghan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) Muhammad Aslam Sayas by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Syed Abrar Hussain, at Kabul Airport.
The consignment was sent on the special instructions of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, for the people of Afghanistan, it said.
Besides, Pakistan will soon send one hundred thousand tons of wheat for Afghan brothers, the embassy said, adding that the Afghan authorities appreciated Pakistan’s assistance and thanked the government and people of Pakistan.
