60 kg of heroin seized in Baghlan
PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A drug trafficker was detained with 60 kilograms of heroin on the outskirts of Pul-i-Khumari, the capital of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Saturday.
The deputy provincial police chief, Lt. Col. Abdul Rashid Bashir, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drugs were recovered on Friday night from a truck loaded with firewood on the outskirts of Pul-i-Khumri.
The drug trafficker who wanted to smuggle 60 kilograms of heroin from Badakhshan to Kabul was arrested by police, he said.
However, the driver, Naimatullah denied involvement in the drug trafficking , saying he was unaware that someone placed the drugs in his truck.
